Lev, an elderly repatriate from Ukraine, heard about Bible study meetings in Yavne, where people read and discuss Scripture over tea. Out of curiosity, he decided to attend. From the start, he said openly, “I’m Jewish and I don’t believe in Jesus.”
But even during that first meeting, something began to change inside him. The simple atmosphere of kindness, the shared reading, and the sincere prayers touched him more deeply than he expected.
Lev continued to attend the Bible studies, even though they were counter to his Jewish faith. He began reading and discussing the Gospel of John and even started asking for prayer for his relatives and friends. Over time, his attitude changed — suspicion turned to curiosity, and curiosity to faith.
Today Lev says these gatherings bring him light and hope. He is thankful to be among people who love God and openly shares how God’s Word is transforming his life.
